It’s official (the banner is up and everything!): The Red Barn Farmstand is opening this summer. We’re looking at July for our grand opening, and in the meantime, we’re hustling, Holoholo style, to get things done. On the agenda for the past couple weeks have been shelving installation and taste testing. Important job, that last one.
To celebrate our forward momentum, we had a little Holoholo Potluck Tasting evening last week. Jean, our Preserves Queen, whipped up a few things to try: Pickled Chard, Salt-Preserved Chard, Fermented Green Tomatoes, Fermented Wax Beans and Pickled Wax Peppers. Pickles, she says, are also great for adding to salads, curries, stews or sautés for some added extra oomph. Yum! You can look forward to seeing some of these popping up at the Farmstand.
Once it’s open, the Red Barn Farmstand will offer fresh produce, eggs, bread, flowers, coffee, pastries, locally made products, grab-and-go meals and picnic packs. We can’t wait for you to see it!
